Meet Sarah Weber Gallo

Sarah is a former Radio City Rockette who has just finished a 25 year performing career with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City and around the world. SWG brings technical knowledge, empathy, and good humor to her teaching practices. Her goal is to build up versatile dance artists who can navigate a life in dance - really life in general - with confidence and grace.

Toward this end, Hoboken Dance Academy is an inclusive space that balances rigorous, personalized dance training with an emphasis on collaboration and ensemble building. Here, students are encouraged to think like artists.

SWG holds an M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Wisconsin and a B.A. in Psychology from Goucher College. She is also the Executive Director of Dance New Jersey, a professor of Ballet at Montclair State University, and an instructor of multiple dance forms at the Joffrey School of Ballet. She was the founding Dance Director at Mile Square Theatre.

Sarah has received the Award for Excellence in Arts Education from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, and the film of her 2017 evening-length dance theatre piece The Magic Hour won the audience choice award in the 2021 New York Indie Film Festival.
